Halloween obese letter writer "Cheryl" is using the holiday to make a statement. This woman is handing out letters on Halloween to obese children that come to her door for candy. According to a report from Wednesday (Oct. 30), a Fargo radio station confirmed the story, stating that the woman apparently wants to watch out for overweight kids in her community.
The woman did not give out her full name when she called into the radio station to declare her intents. She went on to say that, "I am not denying any of the kids candy. I am just hoping the parents are going to read this and think about it while they watch their kids get into bigger and bigger sizes of clothes." So on Oct. 31 some kids are going to leave her house with candy and other trick-or-treaters will receive a sealed envelope with a letter for their parents.
The Halloween obese letter was revealed to the radio station as well and it contains some sternly worded comments. It begins, "Your child is, in my opinion, moderately obese and should not be consuming sugar and treats to the extent of some children this Halloween season." Those are words that many parents probably don't want to see, even if there is some truth to them. It also probably won't receive the reaction that she is hoping to get from parents of kids that just want to trick-or-treat.
Once the big night hits, the Fargo news stations will probably follow up on this story and reveal her identity, especially if there are unhappy parents that didn't expect to get a note from a neighbor like this.
