Halloween indie rock shows in Boston

Hallowen weekend always offers local bands the chance to play dress-up and take the stage in tribute to some of their favorite bands. Church of Boston has two nights of play-acting fun with their annual Lights Out Halloween Extravaganza, featuring tributes to "Zombie Michael Jackson," and Spinal Tap, on Saturday, and Nick Cave and PJ Harvey on Sunday, among others.

Saturday's lineup:

8:00 PM doors, $12 cover.

Sunday:

7:00 PM doors, $10 cover.

Both nights are 18+ to enter, 21+ to purchase alcohol.

The new club Radio in Somerville also has a big Halloween party on Saturday.

Members of The Acre, Big East and Blackbutton perform as Whores At the Door, a tribute to the Pixies. Parlour Bells appears as Jane's Addiction, while OldJack will play the Stereophonics and Limbless Lovers will take on Siouxsie and the Banshees. And members of Big East, Forest Henderson, Backup Factor, Big Sway and Beat Surrender perfom as The Dahkness, Boston's take on The Darkness.

Radio is at 379 Somerville Ave. in Union Square. All shows are $5, with 8pm doors, unless otherwise noted.

On Halloween night on Monday, O'Briens in Allston has an amazingly varied lineup with Pragnus Gray as Bob Dylan, the Gondoliers as Motley Crue, Leagues as the Dead Milkmen, and baton-twirler Ms. Dominica K performing to System of a Down. So that's folk/classic rock, glam metal, sarcastic, sloppy punk, and alt-metal, all in one Halloween night. 9:00 PM doors, 18+.
