If you are planning a Halloween party for children or even adults there are plenty of how-to’s out there to help you with ideas and suggestions.
One favorite game to have whether for children or adults is bobbing for apples, which is always fun.
Making caramel apples are always a hit at parties, the recipe below is easy to make.
Sticky Caramel Apples
Ingredients
- 1 – 14 oz. pkg. caramel squares
- 6 apples
- 2-3 T. milk
- 6 wooden craft sticks or popsicle sticks
Directions
Spread a thin layer of butter over a large cookie sheet. Remove stems from each apple, rinse and pat dry apples. Insert sticks into the top of each apple.
Unwrap caramels and place in a bowl with milk, heat in microwave oven for about 2-3 minutes, stir once. Remove from microwave oven and let cool for a few minutes. Quickly dip and roll apples in caramel mixture, set each apple on cookie sheet with sticks facing upward. Let cool and caramel get firmed up. You can place the cookie sheet of apples in the refrigerator for 5 to 10 minutes to help the caramel firm up.
Tips: After caramel apples have set for 5 minutes at room temperature they can be rolled in finely chopped pecans or peanuts, chocolate sprinkles or flaked coconut.
