Are you a fan of haunted houses? If so, "Hollywood Horror Nights" may be the experience you've always dreamed of.
For 21 nights from September to November, a ticketed event called Hollywood Horror Nights takes over at Universal Studios Hollywood. There are haunted attractions, roaming actors in full horror film makeup wandering around with the sole purpose of scaring you, shows, and even rides. Some of it takes place indoors, while some happens on the streets of the lot where movies are filmed.
Of course, as a beauty enthusiast, I'm always curious about the extreme makeup techniques used to create such horrific looks, and this year the trend may be no surprise- Zombies! New attractions include those based on AMC's The Walking Dead and Evil Dead. There are also attractions based on the film Insidious (called one of the scariest films of 2012,) El Cucuy: The Boogeyman, and more. The Terror Tram ran last year and will run again, with the addition of Walking Dead zombies. All in all, if you're a horror lover, this would be an incredible experience.
It's so scary, in fact, that while there's technically no age limit, Universal recommends mature audiences only, and strongly caution parents of children younger than age 13. No costumes or extreme makeup is allowed on guests, so be aware. Tickets range from about $50 to about $120, depending on which night you want to attend. Visit halloweenhorrornights.com for more information, and click through the photos above to see some of the makeup, masks and headpieces being worn by some of the "scare-actors." It's truly a horror fan's dream... or nightmare.
