It’s that spooky fun time of year, and there is no better place to prepare for Halloween than Fairborn! Foy’s group of Halloween stores frightens the other stores out of the area. Their costume selection, decorations and dedication to the holiday draws ghouls and goblins from hundreds of miles away.
Foy’s children’s Halloween store has an excellent selection of costumes. Whether you are looking for something warm and cozy for a newbie to the Halloween scene, or you have a seasoned vampire or princess, they’ve got the goods. Foy’s also outshines the usual costumes and includes unique choices for even the most creative children.
Visit the adult store for a “beyond the grave” selection of props, accessories, and costumes to purchase and rent. While in Fairborn be sure to visit the classic Foy’s five and dime store, the haunted bar and if you are up for it, take a stroll further east on Main St. Two spectacular Halloween displays that only Foy’s can do are featured at the corner of Main and Maple, including a headless horseman and a haunted pirate ship! Visit Foy’s website for more information on all stores including hours, directions, games, and haunting stories featuring local Halloween haunts.
When choosing a costume for a child, there are a few important tips to keep in mind. Do not count out the impact of the weather, it is Ohio after all. Temperatures can vary greatly in October, especially from afternoon to evening. Make sure young children are kept warm and comfortable in costume. No one wants to be three blocks from home with a cold, uncomfortable screaming toddler. For older kids, remember, see and be seen. If a mask is a must make sure your child can see clearly and comfortably when crossing the street. If your child is donning a dark colored costume this Halloween be sure to add some reflective tape on the costume. Always remember to check the candy before eating! Visit the Dayton Daily News website for trick or treat night information for the entire Miami Valley.
On Friday October 30, Fairborn will be hosting a costume contest and parade beginning at 6:30pm on Main St. It promises to be a great time. While you are visiting Main St in Fairborn, stop in at one of the fabulous mom and pop stops, Tickets, Giovanni’s, or Foy’s Rock and Roll Grill! Also all this week on ABC 22 and Fox 45, Fairborn is the featured “It’s Where You Live” town. Fairborn has a lot to offer, come check it out!
