Halloween candy corn and Bugles are easy and fun

To many folks nothing says Halloween more than those little bright orange and yellow candy corns. An easy way to make them even more delicious, if that’s possible, is by dipping the candy corn tips into some melted white chocolate, then stuffing each candy corn piece into a Bugle horn. The combo of salty and sweet is irresistible. This recipe was shared by a great cook and cookbook collector, Vi, who sent it all the way from Indiana.

According to Wikipedia, candy corn was created in the late 19th century by George Renninger of the Wunderle Candy Company, and the three colors, white, orange, and yellow, were meant to mimic corn itself. The main ingredients of candy corn are sugar, corn syrup, and honey. The first candy corn was made by hand, before a machine was invented to take over the process.

Make these Halloween goodies with your kids or grandkids or a kid of any age for that matter. It’s a BOO-tiful thing to do together.

Gather together an equal number of candy corn and Bugles. Follow directions on package for melting chocolate, either on stove top or in microwave. To assemble, dip tip of candy corn in a little melted chocolate, then poke into opening in Bugle. Enjoy!

I bought a package of candy corn just to make some fun photos of it and now you've given me another photo to go with that collection of orange favorites.

I've made something similar to the Halloween Candy Corn Treats using red-hot candies instead of the candy corn.

    You're right -- they're so irresistable! Yum!
