It’s that time of year again, where candy starts showing up everywhere, from stores to treat bowls to lunch boxes.
Chocolates, caramels, chews, lollipops, and the list goes on as we indulge a little sugar with the guilt-free excuse that it’s the month of Halloween.
However, when we’ve been sugared out and can’t take even one more treat from the extra candy we got, or never got rid of, here’s an inspiringly sweet way to pass it along.
The annual Halloween Candy Buy Back is an innovative program that was created by Dr. Chris Kammer. The goal of this candy buy back is to give families (and organizations) a place to take extra Halloween candy that they can “sell” to participating dentists.
This candy is organized and then sent overseas to our troops, where it is often given to local children in the communities where the military is serving. For more about the Halloween Candy Buy Back program, visit their website at www.halloweencandybuyback.com.
This organization has gotten some major press time as well in recent years, and I’ve included an informative and inspiring video clip from a recent feature that aired on ABC news.
Trick or Treat, then send off some sweets!
