Hallmark Channel announces slate of new movies for 2014

Hallmark Channel announced a new slate of Original Movies in a media release in March, 2014. Hallmark will release 15 new movies this year, including the popular Countdown to Christmas holiday programming.

Michelle Vicary, EVP, Prog. of Hallmark Channel, made the announcement, stating, “Our original movies will continue to uphold the reputation and brand of Hallmark Channel as ‘The Heart of TV’ by engaging our viewers with heartfelt, meaningful family movies,” We are committed to providing new, original stories that the whole family can watch and enjoy together, which is what separates our network as the leader in quality family entertainment.”

"A Ring by Spring," starring Rachel Boston, Stefanie Powers and Kirb Morrow, debuted on March 8. A confident business consultant shys away from marriage until a fortune teller predicts that if she does not get a ring by spring that she will never marry. "Lucky in Love," starring Jessica Szohr, Deidre Hall and Benjamin Hollingworth, premieres on April 5. Mira’s April Fool’s Day tricks materialize and she finds herself promoted to the perfect job, dating the perfect man and living in the perfect home. "A Lesson in Love," starring Kristy Swanson and Scott Grimes, premiers on April 19. Megan Mills realizes that her career focued priorities have cost her bond with her family. "Mom's Day Away," starring Bonnie Somerville and James Tupper, premieres on May 10. A stay-at-home mom decides to finally chase her dreams and spends Mother’s Day weekend away from home and family. "Oh Say Can You See," starring Meghan Markle, premieres on June 28. Journalist Amy Peterson returns home for the family's annual 4th of July celebration and discovers that she loves the man she left behind. There's just one problem: he's engaged to be married to her best friend, and Amy has been asked to be the maid of honor.

"My Boyfiends' Dogs", starring Erika Christensen, premieres on July 19. A runaway bride, complete with wedding dress, shows up at a diner with three new dogs and tells the story of her search for the right man to the owners of a small diner.

"Standed in Paradise premiere on Sept. 6. Tess Nelson loses her job in corporate America and embarks on the non-refundable Hawaii vacation she paid for while still employed. Her vacation in paradise turns out to be a nightmare, except for the attractive young man who keeps crossing her path and the realization that fate has a plan for Tess.

"One Paper," starring Lindsay Hartley, Morgan Fairchild and Drew Fuller, premieres on Sept. 20. An idealistic, young book editor reluctantly moves to Los Angeles to edit a famous author’s latest romance novel. As she struggles to maintain her integrity while battling the bestselling diva’s demands, she meets two very different men and learns that the best romantic choice is not always the one who looks best “on paper.”

"For Better or For Worse," starring Lisa Whelchel, Kim Fields and Antonia Cupo, premieres Oct. 4. Wendy Hartline is a widow who is finally starting to settle into the single life after a difficult season of grief. She runs the family wedding planner business and is irritated when Marco Amorini opens a legal practice next door specializing in divorces right next to her wedding chapel. Wendy gets a second chance at romance in this romantic comedy.

"The Good Witch's Wonder," starring Catherine Bell and Chris Potter, premieres on Oct. 25. This is the seventh installment of the popular series of "The Good Witch" movies on Hallmark Channel. Hallmark announces new Good Witch movie and series.

"Angel on My Tree" premieres Nov. 1. Carrie is a hopeless romantic who makes a wish on a Christmas tree ornament for a great romance, and unexpectedly gets a choice between three suitors and a quest to find her true love before Christmas day.

"Cowboy for Christmas" premieres Nov. 15. Holly Jensen has missed a few Christmases at home in New York City. Planning the perfect Christmas Day, she is excited to introduce her executive boyfriend to meet her family, but a chance meeting with a cowboy from Kentucky makes her think twice about her future.

"Northpole," starring Tiffan Thiessen, Josh Hopkins, Max Charles and Bailee Madison, premieres Nov. 22. A reporter , with the help of her son and his teacher, recaptures the joy of the holiday season and in the process saves Christmas.
