Hallman out, Hendricks to fight fellow Texan Waldburger

Just hours after Dennis Hallman pulled out of a UFC Fight Night 24 match up with T.J. Waldburger (13-5), as reported by MMAJunkie.com, Team Takedown member Johny Hendricks has stepped up.

"Dennis Hallman is out of UFC Fight Night March 26 with a knee injury," UFC president Dana White announced in last night's official release. "Powerful wrestler Johny Hendricks has verbally agreed to replace him against submission specialist T.J. Waldburger in a preliminary fight."

UFC Fight Night 24 features a main event between light-heavyweights Phil Davis and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and takes place at the KeyArena in Seattle, Wash. on March 26. The event will air live on Spike TV.

Hendricks, who trains at The Gym in Arlington, Texas, hopes to bounce back from his first career loss to Rick Story last December. A veteran of the WEC, Hendricks debuted in the UFC against Amir Sadollah at UFC 101 and smashed the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 7 in less than 30 seconds.

A member of the Grappler's Lair gym in Belton, Texas, 22-year old Waldburger will make his second UFC appearance. The former Shark Fights 170 lb champ owns victories over UFC-vet Pete Spratt and Strikeforce stand-out Pat Healy.
