Halle Berry strives for 'normalcy' for daughter, Nahla, after custody battle

Halle Berry wants her daughter Nahla to have a “normal” life. Living in the celebrity spotlight, that isn’t always easy and with Berry’s tumultuous past, the challenges are increased. According to a report that appeared on Newsday on March 5, the Oscar-winning actress is working it all out, though.

One attempt to provide such a life involved moving Nahla to France so Berry could live with fiancé Oliver Martinez who makes his home there. Gabriel Aubry, Nahla’s father, fought Berry in court last year over the matter and the judge blocked the move.

The “X-Men” actress is now sorting things out and making a life for her family in Los Angeles. According to Berry, "That's all I really want, just normalcy for her."

The custody battle between Berry and Aubry was finalized last November. Just days later, however, Aubry and Martinez got into a brawl in the front yard of Berry’s home on Thanksgiving morning with Nahla present. Aubry was left black and blue and Martinez injured his hand. Aubry was arrested but charges were dropped and all parties settled their differences outside of court.

Berry is currently appearing in the thriller "The Call."
