Halle Berry battles multiple personalities in latest film ’Frankie & Alice’

Before she’s seen as Storm in the next installment of the “X-Men” franchise “X-Men: Days of Future Past” actress Halle Berry takes on a very serious subject in the film “Frankie & Alice” which arrives in theaters later this week.

The psychological drama which is based on a true story also stars Phylicia Rashad, Chandra Wilson and Stellan Skarsgard. Berry who also served as producer for the film plays a dancer named Frankie who discovers she has a split personality disorder which includes an alter-ego of a southern racist named Alice.

The Oscar winner earned a Golden Globe nomination in 2011 for her peformance in the film after its initial limited release in 2010. Codeblack Films announced in 2013 it had aquired the North American distribution rights to the movie and would release it in theaters in 2014. Fans of Berry can also look for the actress on the small screen when her sci-fi series “Extant” debuts this summer.

“Frankie & Alice” lands in theaters Friday April 4 while “X-Men: Days of Future Past” premieres nationwide in May.
