It may be fair to say there are high hopes and low expectations for The Call, the upcoming thriller directed by Brad Anderson (Transsiberian) and starring Halle Berry as a 911 operator. Anderson's a talented guy, and Berry has done some inspired work in the past, but the previous trailer for it just looked really tired and not at all exciting.
The latest one is a definite upgrade, mainly because it's shorter and finally gets Berry's character out of her desk chair. She plays an emergency operator who has some sort of history with the guy who just kidnapped Abigail Breslin's character. It looks like Berry is going to take matters into her own hands at some point, otherwise we'd get no final confrontation. So at least there's that to look forward to.
Berry introduces the trailer, and she seems plenty excited for us to see The Call when it opens on March 15th.
