Some new casting news has surfaced with regards to the huge upcoming “X-Men: First Class” sequel “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
According to ComicBookMovie yesterday, Halle Berry (“Monster’s Ball”) has confirmed she will be returning to the franchise as Storm.
This is terrible news for me since I hated her in that role, but I also appreciate the fact that she is coming back for continuity sake.
Recasting her at this point would have been a mistake, and it is (I guess) good that she is coming back (though I would have been fine with them not including her character).
Add to this that the incredible Omar Sy (“The Intouchables”) has joined the film in an unspecified role.
There is a lot of speculation that he will be playing the role of Bishop which would just be incredible.
In the comics Bishop was a member of Xavier's Security Enforcers, a mutant police force from a dystopian future of the Marvel Universe. He traveled to the 20th century and joined the X-Men, a team he knew only as legends.
His story-line would definitely be in keeping with the time travel element of the upcoming film.
Even though I hate Bryan Singer as a director I am really looking forward to this film (it has so much potential).
