Oscar winner Halle Berry put her stunning physique on display in a body-hugging glittery Versace gown at the 2013 Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Feb. 25.
Berry, 46, is a diabetic who has barely aged in 20 years, thanks to a low-carb diet and regular exercise. "I do not love to work out," said Halle. "But if I stick to exercising every day and put the right things in my mouth, then my diabetes just stays in check."
Berry's diet features lean proteins, lots of vegetables and very little sugar. The lithe 5-foot-6 Halle, who recently weaned herself off insulin, typically works out for 90 minutes, five days a week doing a routine that combines cardio exercise with cross-training.
While most actresses dread getting older in youth-obsessed Hollywood, Berry says she's improving with age.
"[Self-confidence] comes with age," she said. "If the world wouldn't persecute me, I'd take nude pictures every day of the week.
"I have a new focus that's outside myself [four-year-old daughter Nahla], and that feels really good, in your forties, to have arrived at that place. I'm actually lucky and grateful that I waited until an age when I can really be present."
