According to the Canadian Press on Monday, Calgary native Taylor Hall of the Edmonton Oilers has been named the National Hockey League's first star of the week from March 31-April 6.

In four games, Hall notched seven assists and nine points. The Oilers went 2-2 in that time period and defeated two Pacific Division foes, the playoff bound Anaheim Ducks and the Phoenix Coyotes, who are currently one point back of the Dallas Stars for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Hall is currently tied for the Oilers lead in goals with 27 (with Jordan Eberle and David Perron), and is their leader in assists (50), points (77), power play goals (7) and shots on goal (244).

The Oilers have three more games to close out their season. They host the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday and the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

Semyon Varlamov of the Colorado Avalanche was the NHL's second star and Max Pacioretty of the Montreal Canadiens was the NHL's third star.
