There comes a time in life when you have to decide that it is time to hang it up. Think about retirement. Maybe you’re an athlete and you are not as strong or fast as you used to be. Maybe a professional race car driver and your reactions are a lot slower. Or a singer and your vocals are not what they used to be. Your pitch is not there anymore. Maybe you should hang it up and chill. Well Monday night was nothing like these scenarios as the First Bank Center along with AEG Live welcomed Rock and Rock Hall of Fame 2014 Inductees, Daryl Hall and John Oates. They provided some great entertainment to a packed house.
Hall and Oates have been around for years. They have been on the top of the charts with a number of hits. “Sara Smiles”, “Man Eater”, “Rich Girl”, “One on One” (which has been used for numerous commercials), “Kiss On My Lips” and many more. Along with their own ability to entertain, they brought some incredible musicians with them. Give credit where credit is due. Charlie DeChant has been with Hall and Oates since their inception in the early 1970’s. Along with Hall and Oates, Charlie DeChant can be heard playing sax and keyboards with Billy Joel, The Temptations, Tina Turner, The Average White Band, Mick Jagger and more.
Hall and Oates took the fans on a journey that spanned some 30 years of music. From their meeting in Philadelphia to tunes that were created in the basement of Darryl Halls home in Aspen. Anytime Darryl and John have gotten together, another hit is created. AEG Live helped bring some old school back to the First Bank Center and they did it in style. Thank you Daryl and John for keeping music real and showing people that you can still perform. Daryl Hall and John Oates tour simple, good, fun entertainment. And Monday night’s performance showed that your abilities are still there and will be for years to come.
