This morning, CouponCodes4u.com released their latest survey about Google's Project Glass, which projects a smartphone-like experience into your field of vision. It is very futuristic and has attracted a lot of media attention.
According to CouponCodes4u.com, however, not everyone wants to pay a fortune for Google's device. The study polled 2,571 Americans. Respondents were initially asked whether or not they had heard of Google’s Project Glass, to which 62% said they had. When questioned further to discover whether or not they would be interested in purchasing a pair, the majority, 61%, said that they would, while 14% said they would not. A quarter of respondents, 25%, said they were unsure.
Those who said they were interested in buying a pair or were unsure whether or not they were interested in buying a pair were asked whether or not cost would play a part in their purchasing decision. 46% of consumers said they would not purchase the wearable gadget if the final cost was more than $500, while 23% said that they would not spend more than $1000 to own a pair. 6% of consumers admitted that they were prepared to purchase the gadget, no matter what the cost.
Furthermore, when the respondents were asked whether or not they would use the Project Glass for more personal or work related tasks, 58% said they would prefer to use the gadget for personal use. When asked to stipulate exactly what they would use the high tech glasses for, 47% said they would use it for capturing family moments that would be otherwise difficult with normal cameras and phones, while 31% of respondents said they would use the gadget in their line of work.
One can imagine there will be a lot more accidents with people wearing these on the streets on not paying attention to traffic. It could be quite scary!
