Indie alt-country performer Haley Bonar will play a show at the Maintenance Shop (2229 Lincoln Way in Ames) on the Iowa State University campus on Friday, February 22. Doors at the M-Shop will open at 8:30 p.m., and the show will start at 9 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $10 for the general public and $5 for ISU students (with a valid student ID). Ticket prices will increase $2 the day of the concert. Tickets may be purchased at the Maintenance Shop box office or online through MidwesTix. This will be an all ages concert event.

Haley Bonar was discovered by one of her idols, Alan Sparhawk of the band Low, while playing at an open mic event. The next day, the 20-year-old Bonar had dropped out of school and was on the road opening for Low as they toured the U.S. Bonar has since toured with Andrew Bird, Mason Jennings, David Garza, Amos Lee, Great Lake Swimmers, Pieta Brown, Charlie Parr, Langhorne Slim, and a host of others. A Minneapolis resident, Bonar has won two Minnesota Music Awards and has been featured on Showtime’s The United States of Tara and MTV’s Teen Moms.
