Hale and Hearty features soups from top local chefs, proceeds donated to charity

Winter and soup always go hand in hand, but making the same soups at home over and over can get a bit dull. But, if you live in New York, then you're in luck. Stop in at Hale and Hearty to try some fantastic soups from top local chefs, now through March 7, as part of their annual Chef Series.

Participating chefs include Andrew Carmellini of Locanda Verde, The Dutch, and the recently opened Lafayette in NoHo; and John DeLucie, of Bill's Food & Drink, Crown, and The Lion. Ten percent of the proceeds from their featured menu items are donated to a charity of choice.

Carmellini's coconut-curry butternut soup, available until February 21, will benefit Food Bank NYC, and DeLucie's chicken pot pie soup, available through March 7, will benefit Children's Defense Fund and Global Learning Across Borders.
