Ann Arbor houses some of the most forward thinking, metropolitan Muslims around. Most of which enjoy a good, clean joke every now and again. This channel is here in part to cater to those individuals and answer those funny bone needs.
All jokes featured in the Halal Joke Series can be enjoyed by the whole family, and generally show off an aspect of Islam or feature a character from Islamic history. At times there may be a Muslim twist added to a previously well-known tale.
The Joke: Mulla Nasruddin was interested in females, but he had bad luck with them, and none of them would agree to marry him. He was going to meet with a woman and her family for the first time so he asked a successful friend how he should behave.
The friend told him, "Remember three things. Always talk about Food, Family, and Philosophy."
Mulla says, "Why, what is the appeal about those three things?", to which the friend responded, "Talk about food because a woman will feel comfortable. Every woman is interested in food, she is food for a child, she prepares food, she is interested in the subject. Talk about her family to indicate that your intentions are noble. And talk about philosophy so that she feels you acknowledge her intelligence.
So being excited about the advice, Mulla rushes the whole process. As soon as he sees the girl he asks, "Hello, do you like noodles?" The girl was startled and said, "No!" He then asked "Don't you have two brothers?", and which point she began to think what a strange meeting this was, and replied, "No!" And then Mulla asks, "Well if you had a brother, would he like noodles?"
