A group from Charlotte, Haitian Heritage & Friends of Haiti, recently delivered medical supplies and an ambulance to Haiti.
Many Charlotte residents have been involved in helping local groups collect health supplies for Haiti for several years. Since the earthquake in Haiti in January 2010, more have been able to assist in securing supplies such as canned food, clothing and water for groups to deliver to Haiti.
Other groups that continue to collect donations for those in Haiti include the Samaritan's Purse, the Red Cross, and the Salvation Army, just to list a few. When any group attempts to deliver items to Haiti or elsewhere it is understood that the items may be stalled in customs. In June Haitian Heritage & Friends of Haiti delivered the ambulance they were able to purchase at auction. However, the ambulance was not immediately delivered to the intended recipient.
A thank you to Haitian Heritage & Friends of Haiti has been received which lets them know the ambulance is now at Justinien Hospital in Caps-Haitien, Haiti. Be sure to view the video at the end of this article to see what is happening in Haiti.
Those who would like to help but feel their contribution of time or funds does not matter might be interested in what Sabine Guerrier, President of Haitian Heritage & Friends of Haiti had to say in this statement released before an earlier trip to Haiti:
"Haiti needs you.......It needs not just the donated items, but your physical presence is very critical for the welfare and well-being of the earthquake victims. I plead to each one of you, if you're able to make it to please join us.”

I'm glad that the U.S. was able to help this country, of course they need a lot more help, and the help of other nations. Hopefully the U.N. will take a larger part in helping countries like this out, that is what they are there for but continue to fail. Great article. :)
Hi Pat: What a great organization, and good article. We should all help those in need. Thanks!
Great article, Clearly a great organization.
Thanks for the great article, it is nice to read that people have not forgotten about Haiti and are still helping them out.
