Hairroin Salon: Thank God it's Foxy Friday

Might as well face it, you're addicted to style.

With blow-dry bars popping up on seemingly every block in LA, it's not hard to find an affordable-ish blowout these days. (And who hasn't pulled a Tori Spelling from time to time and gone the Fantastic Sams route?) Yet there's something to be said for getting pampered in a chic salon setting—so why not combine the best of both worlds at Hollywood's Hairroin Salon? They've just introduced Foxy Fridays, which offers $35 blowouts from 6-10 pm to kick off your weekend. Sip champagne, enjoy the stylings of a live DJ, and relax as the Hairroin team of stylists works their straightening magic.

Located on Caheunga, Hairroin features eclectic, disco-style decor: huge chandeliers, sparkly beaded curtains, exposed brick walls, vintage posters, and—no joke—a taxidermy window display. (Stylist Douglas Peyton describes it as "The Haunted Mansion meets a Victorian parlor.") Owned by Janine Jarman (of Bravo's Shear Genius fame), the friendly, funky salon's tagline is "Addicted to Style." And at Foxy Fridays, you get to select your own custom blowdry style, from "The Foxy" to "The Flat Wrap;" hoping for a Brigitte Bardot-esque result, I opted for the "Volumizing" do and wasn't disappointed.

Though parking can often be challenging in this area, arrive on the early side and you're likely to land a plum metered spot. And if you're into the Hollywood scene, plan on staying and enjoying neighboring haunts like Beauty Bar (touche), Velvet Margarita, or Capitol City. It's a fun way to start off your Friday night, and you're sure to find the Foxy lady within. But be warned: style this affordable can surely be addictive.
