Hairball comes to the Iowa State Fairgrounds on February 2 (Photos)

The Midwest's most popular 80's tribute band returns to Des Moines on Saturday, February 2 for a show at the Iowa State Fairgrounds' Richard O. Jacobson Exhibition Center. Doors for the show will open at 6:30 p.m., and the music will kick off at 8 p.m. Des Moines party band Gimikk will be the opening act. Tickets for the show are $15 in advance and $23 at the door. They may be purchased at the Fairgrounds' Administrative Building or online through the Fairgrounds website. Parking at the fairgrounds will be free for the event.

Hairball got their start just under 13 years ago. The Minneapolis sextet is one of the foremost 80's arena rock impersonation bands. Hairball's alternating lead singers, "Rockstar Bob" Jensen and Kris Voxx, lead the band in dead-on sonic impersonations of bands like Guns n' Roses, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, KISS, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Journey, Poison, and others. Jensen and Voxx alternate singing, dressing their parts and matching the vocals and mannerisms of the lead singers they impersonate. Check out Rockstar Bob doing AC/DC's Brian Johnson in the nearby video.
