Runway 2014 brought the latest and greatest hair and beauty trends to the region on Sunday, October 20 and Monday, October 21. Long Island’s biggest beauty expo was held at the Marriott in Uniondale and the Long Island Hair Care Examiner was on site to bring readers the best the beauty business has to offer.
Runway 2014, the annual tradeshow and educational conference for hair, nail and skin care, presented by Paramount Beauty Supply and Royal Beauty Supply Professional Stores, is the go-to trade show for hairstylists, estheticians, colorists, nail technicians, makeup artists, and beauty students on Long Island.
Vendors and educators from Brazilian Blowout, Enzo Milano, Keratin Complex, Joico, Oster Professional, Schwarzkopf, Wahl Clipper Cutting, and Blow Pro, among others, were on hand to offer professionals the latest hair and beauty developments to present to their clients. However, a few such as DevaCurl, ProShots, Peter Coppola Keratin Concept, Schwarzkopf, Eufora and Aloxxi stood out above the rest with intriguing and innovative products based upon the current and most popular hair trends.
DevaCurl understands curlicues and the need to gently tend to our most precious curls. With wave and bounce at the top of the hair trend, the curly hair company has designed innovative products, such as the DevaTowel, DevaGloves and the DevaDiffuser, a blow-dryer attachment shaped like a hand for frizz-free hair, that create and maintain fabulous curls.
ProShots enhances the bright hair color trend with a new product that expands the client experience. Vibrant hues and metallic shades add fun, frivolity and dimension to the hair with a professional salon hair color service. Clients can touch-up and brighten with the complementary ColorMe tubes, which have been written about here. Visit ColorMePro.com to help support the Cure with ColorMe.
Peter Coppola Keratin Concept separated from Keratin Complex to create a state-of-the-art hair smoothing system that is not only formaldehyde-free, but also aldehyde-free that leaves the hair full-bodied and frizz-free for up to three months, longer with less frequent shampoos.
Schwarzkopf Professional introduced Igora Expert Color Mousse to condition, tone and add brilliant shine, perfect for pre-lightened hair, up to 20% white-blending, color correction, color refreshment and at-home use as a color maintenance product.
Eufora is relatively unheard of in the populace, but not within the professional world of hair care. The innovation behind this brand demands a separate cover, as the product line utilizes an aloe base and has crafted Beautifying Elixirs to be used at home, by the client to keep the hair color vibrant between salon visits.
Aloxxi deserves a mention for the simple fact of ingenious and adorable color names. Patterned from the founder of nail giant OPI, Aloxxi Salon Color & Care has named the hair color in the line in the same fashion of the nail lacquer, such as Prima Donna, Date Night at Harry’s and Valentino’s Delight. Aside from the cuteness of the color names, the brand is cruelty-free, gluten-free, paraben-free and protects the hair from UV damage.
Stay tuned to this column for a full review of Eufora and the hair care company’s latest developments of hair trends, hair thickening products and men’s grooming line.
