In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the newest member of the “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” will chop her locks and donate her hair to one of the noted charities at ElvisDuran.com. The popular morning radiocast is asking listeners to join with Sam in her charitable hair donation for a chance to have their haircuts posted on the show’s site.
Sam is the audio producer of the “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” and latest member of the a.m. crew. Her father is a doctor and her mother is a breast cancer survivor. She has witnessed cancer and hair loss first hand, and understands how severely it can affect one’s overall wellness, labeling it an “emotional terrorist”.
In an effort to raise awareness for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and help ease someone else’s suffering, Sam will cut off her hair and donate it to charity. She is requesting fans and listeners of “The Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” to follow her hair lead and consider donating their hair to Locks of Love, Wigs for Kids or Pantene Beautiful Lengths.
Between now and the end of October, print out this sign, and pose with it as you are videotaped or photographed cutting your hair for the cause. Post your snapshot or video on Vine, Twitter and Instagram using #ElvisDuranDonates @ElvisDuranShow for a chance to be featured in a video on the radio show's site at the end of the month.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, however hair donations are accepted all year. Eight inches is standard, but check with the organizations to confirm hair length requirements and if they have colored hair restrictions.
