“When you're sitting in class, There's a tickle in your nose, Then you let out a sneeze, It finally explodes,” so begins the catchy lyrics from two-time Grammy winner and children’s favorite songster/storyteller, Bill Harley, who provides a free music download of this good-advice for the H1N1 flu season.
Harley’s kid-friendly, sing-along-song encourages children to “Wash Your Hands - lávate las manos!”
Provided as a free public service for parents and children, Harley initially composed the song as a means of helping kids understand the importance of hand washing, and how it prevents the spread of germs.
Created for the students at the Paul Cuffee School, a National Charter School of the Year, which is located in Providence, Rhode Island, the music’s popularity and good advice is also making its way into Massachusetts schools statewide through the efforts of the Massachusetts Department of Health.
“Wash Your Hands” is available as a free digital download through Bill Harley’s website at BillHarley.com.
While you’re visiting Harley’s site, be sure to check out the details on his “Make a Bill Harley Video Contest” (no purchase necessary) from Round River Productions, it’s a fun activity that’s perfect for families, classrooms and after-school programs, and has lots of great prizes.
In addition to being a favorite recording artist, Harley tours extensively. To see if he is coming to a venue near you, just follow this link to his calendar.
