H That Dude: Sing Sing's Finest Part I

My first encounter with H That dude came a little over 4 years ago.  Here we had this quiet kid that really wouldn’t say much until you put a microphone in front of him. H was fresh from Ossining, NY and looking to link up with anybody that wanted to make music at the State College at Oneonta. His first offering away from home came in the form known as “What You know about H” in 2006. This mix-tape produced one of the Oneonta cult classics called “Groupy Party.” Since then he kept up the with the game by releasing “The Pregame” in 2008. Now it’s the end of 2010 and we wanted to catch up with Ossining’s own, H That Dude. Sing Sing stand up.

William: What does your name mean?

H That dude: It means Hectic which is kinda wack so we shortened it to H. And I'm That Dude so I added that too.

William: I see. So how do you describe your music?

H That Dude: Hip-Hopish, regular rap. Just whatever I'm feelin at the time.

William: Who are your influences in the music industry? Who do you look up to outside of the music industry?

H That Dude: Jay-z was prob the first rapper I really got into. Many more after that. Whoever is good n has quality music they influence me. Gotta mention my man Joe Budden tho. Outside of music I don't know, nothing interests me enough outside of music.

William: Who are your favorite artists?

H That Dude: Jumpoff Joe Beezy =Most underrated rapper in the game. Jay-z of course. Joell Ortiz is a beast. Jadakiss top 5 dead or alive. I like a lot. Too many to name them all.

William: I know this isn’t down your lane but what do you think of cover bands?

H That Dude: I don't think I've seen too many cover bands. If they are good though then good for them. Let em rock.
