Super crop hemp regains it's rightful place in agriculture & industry with Hanesbrands NAT agreement

This is one of the big ways to save the economy, empower farmers, let them have the choice to raise this fiber, seed & oil crop. There are plenty of Pennsylvania farmers that are in favor of this along with Amish & Mennonite farmers. Hemp shive in construction material - carbon negative - fiberglass substitutes, wood substitutes - a plant with higher cellulose than corn & switchgrass & we can eat the locally grown seed vs importing 100% from the other G-20 countries in the world. Popular Mechanics was correct when in 1937 they had an article entitled "HEMP THE NEW BILLION DOLLAR CROP" - not published by "hippies" - "democrats or libertarians" - lets get on the ball Congress if you & our President really want "CHANGE" - let the farmers have the opportunity - it's not a drug crop.
I just would like to point out that "Naturally Advanced Technolgies" (NAT) a publicly traded Canadian company has developed and patented a Hemp fabric bled called "CRAILAR" It's just like cotton only better! They just anounced agreements with HANES Brands (4.3 billion dollar company) for a crailar /cotton line that promises to take the textile industry by storm! --They also mentioned confidential agreements with Georgia -Pacific Headquartered at Atlanta, Georgia-Pacific is one of the world's leading manufacturers and marketers of tissue, packaging, paper, pulp, and building products Click here to learn more about how Georgia-Pacific practices and promotes sustainable forestry.
They reportedly have plenty of hemp fiber available from Canadian farmers and internationally (China etc.) but welcome the American farmers as potential providers.
As the process ramps up they predict an over abundant supply (glut) of hempseed which can be processed into high quality food as well as Bio-fuel!
Thanks Paul
I'm adding the link to the article I wrote about your story on August 7 when the news broke - sounds like it's time for an update - if you email me through my bio maybe we can collaborate.
More people need to know about this!
So I was eating a hemp pretzel with some hemp horseradish mustard that I bought from a stand at the Pa Farm Show. Shawn House had a stand up there selling his delicious and nutritious Hempzels. Shawn told me it was made from hempseed imported from Canadian farmers. He would love to contract with local farmers to grow the hempseed he needs for his Hempzels and other hemp-based products but of course, until HR 1866 passes, he can not. I saw the absurdity of our laws against hemp. We can import the seed, make food products out of them, sell them, eat them, everything but produce the seeds ourselves. American farmers are being deprived of an opportunity during the worst economic crisis since the great depression.Does that make any kind of sense to you?. Passing HR 1866 makes sense. Pennsylvania farmers will grow the best hemp in the nation, just like they did for over two hundred and fifty years, especially during the Revolution. George Washington didn't need a HR 1866. But we do.
