H&M, Swedish retailer and darling of the fashion set, plans to open its first southeast location outside of Atlanta at Bridge Street Town Centre this spring.
With designer collaborations and affordable, fashion forward looks, H&M is set to become a Bridge Street anchor and bring Huntsville to the fore as an area shopping destination. Until now, Atlanta has claimed the most southerly locations of the fast fashion retailer and savvy Huntsville shoppers have been known to plan trips to the metropolis around a visit to H&M.
Online shopping teasers have had many local shoppers disappointed this year, as the rumors, backed by H&M’s official Twitter feed of online retail availability at the start of 2012 in the U.S. falling flat. According to reports, the store will occupy the space formerly held by Clarks, which moved to a new location recently, and annex additional space. Children’s clothing will also be a feature of the store.
In addition to some pretty fabulous pieces, H&M’s designer collaborations tend to have a bit more of the runway's edge than those at other retailers. While the Marni collaboration will likely have gone before Huntsville's store gets up and running, there will surely be many more to look forward to in the coming months.
