A gynecologist hid a camera in the form of at John Hopkins Hospital, FOX News reports Feb. 27. An employee reported her suspicions to officials Feb. 4 and on Feb. 5, Dr. Nikita Levy was escorted off hospital grounds -- banned from having further contact with patients while an investigation was underway.
On Feb. 18, Dr. Levy committed suicide inside his home.
In a letter written by CEO, Dr. Paul B. Rothman, of John Hopkins, an employee of Levy's believed a pen worn around his neck had a camera device inside of it while he examined patients. When security personnel interviewed the gynecologist Feb. 5, they came up with similar devices in his office and on Levy. Investigators found a number of multi-media evidence on the practicing doctor.
More than 2,000 patients and former patients of the John Hopkins gynecologist have called a hotline set up for them. Class action lawsuits are being filed against the hospital.
Investigators are trying to determine if anyone else was involved in the camera activity or if anything has been posted or sold online.
