Garden parties can be so much fun, especially when there is great food, music and friends to go along with a beautiful garden setting. So it is no wonder that Gwyneth Paltrow threw an English Garden Party in the Hamptons and invited lots of people to help her celebrate her first fashion collaboration with fashion designer Stella McCartney, according to The Improper on Sept. 13.
Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney showed up, as did Sarah Jessica Parker and Cameron Diaz, to name a few. And the celebrities can be seen in a video of the event surrounded by musicians, wine and a smorgasbord of food options. There were games for the children--and adults, as well as handbags to view and a multitude of people wearing blazers for some reason.
There may not be a garden party going on in your city this month, or one hosted by a famous friend, but you can always find a good garden tour to attend, except for winter, maybe. In Atlanta there will be a three-day garden design workshop to help you take your landscape to school, which will include tours of beautiful luxury home gardens in Buckhead in September. It is hosted by Dargan Landscape Architects Hugh and Mary Palmer Dargan, formerly seen on HGTV.
The New York Times featured a House and Garden Tours listing this past spring and summer detailing events occurring from as far as Brooklyn to Seattle, but those events have already occurred, unfortunately. But anyone interested in seeing something this month still have garden tour options, so don't give up. For example, Kansas has the Garden Railway Tour coming up in September, and botanical gardens around the country offer garden tours all month long.
