Gwyneth Paltrow opened up about suffering a miscarriage in an interview with The Mail on Sunday.
The Oscar winner and mother of two revealed she suffered a miscarriage in recent years, and it's affected her decision on whether to have a third child.
"My children ask me to have a baby all the time. And you never know, I could squeeze one more in. I am missing my third. I'm thinking about it," she told the Mail.
She went on to say, "But I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third. It didn't work out and I nearly died. So I am like, 'Are we good here or should we go back and try again?'"
She didn't get into the specifics of the health risks that she encountered with her pregnancy and miscarriage. PubMed Health says complications of a complete miscarriage are rare.
An infected miscarriage may occur if any tissue from the placenta or fetus remains in the uterus after the miscarriage. Symptoms of an infection include fever, vaginal bleeding that does not stop, cramping, and a foul-smelling vaginal discharge. Infections can be serious and require immediate medical attention.
