Gwyneth Paltrow miscarriage: Actress ‘nearly died’

Gwyneth Paltrow opens up about her miscarriage in an interview, in which she says: “I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third. It didn’t work out and I nearly died.” Daily Mail reports the story on Sunday, Match 17.

This tragedy apparently took place several years ago, since the star’s other children, Apple and Moses, are 8 and 6. Gwenyth Paltrow hid her miscarriage at the time, and she still has not revealed exactly when it happened. A miscarriage can be such a deep personal pain that women frequently keep the details to themselves. But some are medically scary, in addition to the loss of the baby. It appears hers was the dangerous-to-the-mother sort.

“So I am like,” the actress says, “Are we good here or should we go back and try again?” She still feels that she is “missing” a third child. It’s a tough decision, especially since Gwyneth Paltrow has now reached 40. Should she or shouldn’t she try again? The choice is something she and husband Chris Martin have pondered. “My children ask me to have a baby all the time,” she said. “And you never know, I could squeeze one more in.”

Then she thinks about the diapers. And the sleepless nights. “I’m so past that,” Paltrow went on. “I think maybe when Moses was three I would have done it … but now he’s six and such a guy I feel like I’m out of the baby phase. If it happens, it happens.”

Meanwhile, her cookbook “It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great,” is causing comment. In her book – and her life – she puts a ban on “pasta, bread or processed grains.” Gluten is tough on the system, she explains. Many – but not all – experts agree.
