Gwyneth Paltrow disses haters: They sit home, don't exercise & criticize others

Gwyneth Paltrow, who recently flaunted her gym-toned physique in sexy topless photospread, takes aim at her critics, saying it's easy to do nothing and mock other people.

“It’s so much easier to sit home and not exercise and criticize other people," Paltrow says in the September 2011 issue of Elle. "What I love is inspiring people.

"People come up to me and say, ‘I want to have two kids and wear a bathing suit and not feel terrible about myself. I see how hard you work and it makes me feel like I can do that too.’”

Grueling Daily Workouts at 4:30 AM

While not everyone has access to world-class nutritionists and personal trainers, Gwyneth, who exercises up to 2 hours a day, works extremely hard for her enviable physique.

The 5'9" Paltrow does at least 45 minutes of cardio and 45 minutes of strength training five days a week to maintain her sleek bikini body.

Gwyneth, a longtime smoker who continued to smoke even as her dad was dying of throat cancer in 2002, has become the embodiment of good health over the years.

In addition to eating fresh vegetables, fruits and lean proteins, Paltrow often wakes up at 4:30 a.m. to exercise.

"I’m really not a morning person at all. It is just sheer determination," says Gwyneth, 38. "I’m very strict with myself. When I practice six days a week and eat clean food, I feel much better."

My Marriage Goes Through Rough Patches

Paltrow has been married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin since 2003, with whom she has two children: daughter Apple, 7, and five-year-old son Moses.

When asked about press rumors of trouble in her marriage, Gwyneth acknowledges relationships are hard.

“Sometimes it’s hard being with someone for a long time," says Paltrow. "We go through periods that aren’t all rosy. I always say, life is long and you never know what’s going to happen.

"If, God forbid, we were ever not to be together, I respect him so much as the father of my children. Like, I made such a good choice. He’s such a good dad. You can never be relaxed or smug and think, I’ve got this thing. That’s also part of it—keeping yourself on your toes. I’m not going to take this for granted.”
