If you've ever seen "Extreme Weight Loss," you know that the show features real people who suffer from life-threatening obesity. Now Gwyneth Paltrow and her trainer Tracy Anderson are filming a twist on that reality show, reported Racked on September 26.
Business partners as well as best friends, Gwyneth and Tracy are excited about their new series, which is for AOL On. This online channel also showcases Nicole Richie's series "Candidly Nicole." The series helps women shed pounds using Tracy's methods.
"We focus on women who have overcome their bodies; women who have gone through really tragic situations in their life with self-medication (over-eating, over-drinking, etc.)," explained Tracy. "Some weren't supposed to survive, some lost children, but they all learned to connect with their bodies. When you do that, all these things happen. One woman lost her son who loved Kempo karate, so she started to practice it. Her body began to transform, but the key here is that she wasn't doing it because she was attached to a vanity-driven goal. She used the grieving energy and put it to something else."
In the past, Tracy has been accused of believing that every woman can and should achieve a size zero. She wants the show to make it clear that she does not have that attitude.
The new weight loss show is just one of the projects that Tracy and her BFF have recently kick-started, according to Racked. She and Gwyneth also crafted a new line of leggings. In addition, the duo plan to open a fitness-focused women's boutique next to the Brentwood studio. The attire is intended for the "working mom who has an exercise lifestyle."
