Gwinnett Technical College Culinary Arts program serves lunch

I’ve written about the culinary arts program at Gwinnett Technical College before. Each semester, students get hands on practice serving the publics by preparing a series of lunches. In the past the culinary offerings took your tastes buds around the world with a variety of cuisines. But the Spring Semester brings lots of changes to the Culinary Arts lunches. To start, there’s a new location. Service is still in Building 700, but the new dining area is room number is 1.116, down the hallway from the previous location. There is a new menu layout, too. It’s divided by courses:

  • 1st    Course:  Soup /or Salad
  • 2nd Course:  Entrée
  • 3rd Course:  Dessert

These changes are focused on faster service for the patrons, but remember that the program is primarily student focused. The lunches provide students hands-on experience in preparing and serving foods in a learning environment. The cost is still an unbeatable $10, paid immediately after dinner. Arrive for lunch by 12:15p, as there will be no seating once service begins at 12:30p. Because Gwinnett is one of the busiest of Georgia’s Technical College’s, allow extra time to park. The service goal is one hour, but understand that it may take longer. Take the time to provide feedback to students at the end of the meal.
