The Gwinnett Braves (10-6) extended their winning streak to seven games by defeating the Charlotte Knights (6-11) on Monday night by four runs at Coolray Field, 8-4. The victory completed a three-game sweep, and was the fifth straight win for Gwinnett over division rival Charlotte. On the Hill
Mike Minor, Zach Stewart, and Cody Martin each delivered Quality Starts in the sweep of the Knights.
Minor (6.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 4 SO, HR), with Gwinnett on a rehab assignment, made his second appearance (first start) and improved to 2-0; Stewart (6.0 IP, 4 H, 3 RR, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 SO, HR) gave up all three of the runs he allowed in the first inning, but fought back and held Charlotte scoreless over the next five on his way to his first win as a G-Brave. The W came against his former team-the Texas Tech product went 6-14 with the Knights last season; Martin (6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 SO) did not factor in the decision despite a strong outing.
