Visitors will enjoy a wide range of activities, including games, guided nature hikes, crafts, solar t-shirt screening, trivia, and much more.
In addition, for just $1, special programming will allow you to dissect an owl pellet, meet a Great Horned Owl, and learn about wildlife you can find in your own backyard.
The Mill Creek High School Orchestra will also perform as it celebrates the beauty of music in the environment, and Whole Foods Market from Duluth/John's Creek will provide organic food cooking demonstrations.
Bring your work clothes!
The GEHC is creating a butterfly/pollinator garden and needs your help! Volunteers are needed to help install Phase II of the GEHC Butterfly Garden on April 16 as well.
If you are interested in digging, planting, and mulching, contact John Cascone, the GEHC Director of Programming, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your House, My House
April 16 is also the last day to experience the interactive, hands-on exhibit exploring houses around the world. Special activities and crafts will showcase the exhibit as well as provide information about how other cultures recognize the importance of protecting the Earth.
In recognition of Earth Day, there will be a $2.00 discount on regular admission for all ages. Boy and Girl Scouts and their leaders can attend for a $1.00 and a non-perishable food item if they are dressed in full uniform. Teachers can also attend for $1.00 and a non-perishable food item with school ID. As always, GEHC members are admitted free.
