Gwinnett County offers reduced adoption fees for black pets on Fridays

Every Friday is Black Friday at the Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement Center where all mostly black dogs and cats can be adopted for only a $30 cash veterinarian fee. The adoption fee includes spaying or neutering, the first set of vaccinations and a microchip. The normal adoption fee is $90.

The Shelter is located at 884 Winder Highway in Lawrenceville and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The dog pictured above is Precious – a young, female shepherd mix. Precious was found as a stray and is a medium-sized friendly dog. She has already been spayed, heartworm tested, microchipped and had her first round of vaccinations. Precious is ready for her forever home today.

About Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement Center (from the website)

“If you'd like to adopt a new family member or if your pet is lost, the Animal Shelter is a great place to begin your search. The Gwinnett Police Department operates the Animal Shelter to enforce animal control laws and to shelter animals that have strayed, gotten lost, or been turned over for adoption. With pet overpopulation on the rise, we're proud to report a decrease in incoming animals and an increase in animals placed to individuals and rescue groups through our shelter.”
