Gwen Stefani to replace Christina Aguilera on 'The Voice'

While it has been a while since Gwen Stefani last topped the music charts, the star has remained remarkably busy as her career transitions into a new phase. In particular, it was recently revealed that she may have landed a new role on a major television show. A Sunday story by the New York Daily News reveals that Gwen Stefani as officially signed on to be a judge for the next season of “The Voice”.

The Story reports that Gwen will be replacing Christina Aguilera. Christina Aguilera will not be leaving the show permanently. Rather, she is pregnant and has chosen not to continue filming until she has given birth. Interestingly, the producers for “The Voice” tried to convince Aguilera to continue filming despite her pregnancy. Yet, the starlet decided she wanted to put her family first.

While Gwen Stefani is about to get a lot busier, she recently took time to party with some of her most famous gal pals. A Saturday story by the New York Daily News revealed that Gwyneth Paltrow posted a picture to Instagram from a girls’ night that she held at her house. Gwen Stefani was just one of the famous starlets to attend the get together. Nicole Richie, Naomi Watts and Chelsea Handler were among the other famous celebrities to attend.

There is little doubt that fans of “The Voice” will miss Christina Aguilera, but no one can blame her for choosing to put her family first. After all, her absence is only temporary. Additionally, it should be noted that Gwen Stefani has millions of fans, and she will bring a fresh perspective to the ratings goliath. Regardless of your opion on Gwen Stefani she will be joining “The Voice”, and sources say that she is slated to start filming sometime in June.
