Gwen Stefani has lost a dramatic amount of weight just eight weeks after giving birth to her third son, thanks to a low-carb diet and running workouts.

Stefani, who used to follow a mostly vegan diet, has slimmed down by eating high-protein, low-carb meals and running at least 20 minutes a day, Harper's Bazaar reported.

Gwen's daily diet these days reportedly includes egg-white omelettes with vegetables, tuna salads, boiled eggs and protein shakes. "She avoids pasta, bread, and rice and drinks lots of water," said a source.

Stefani, a longtime workout fanatic, is no doubt getting in shape for her new gig as a judge on season seven of the reality TV competition, "The Voice," which starts filming in June.

Gwen replaces Christina Aguilera, who is pregnant with her second child. Aguilera, who made headlines for her stunning 35-pound weight loss last year, confirmed Stefani's new gig herself on Twitter.

Stefani, 44, typically works out five days a week doing a combination of intense cardio exercise and strength-training. The athletic 5-foot-6 Gwen, who admits that staying thin is a "daily struggle," said she gets wracked with guilt whenever she skips a workout.

“I work out five days a week, I can’t imagine not doing it,” said Gwen. “I’d like to have no rules and eat what I want, but I’ve learned over the years that I’m so disappointed when I can’t wear the clothes I want to wear.

"I've always been on a diet, ever since I was in the sixth grade. It's an ongoing battle and it's a nightmare. But I like clothes too much. I'm very vain."

Stefani, who has been married to British rocker Gavin Rossdale since 2002, said juggling her booming rock career with her hectic family life is not easy, but worth any sacrifices she makes. Despite her busy schedule, Stefani, a self-professed makeup junkie, said she always takes time to look her best.

"I like to make my husband like me more, and he likes it when I'm wearing makeup," said Gwen, who has her own nail polish line and fragrance. “I wear make up every single day. I don’t feel energized until I’ve put it on. Then I’m ready to go.”
