Gwen Stefani proves that she's way more than just a girl as she officially signs on to join "The Voice." After much speculation as to whether or not she would be sitting in a judge's chair for the popular singing competition, the Tuesday announcement finally came when Christina Aguilera welcomed Stefani to the show according to Billboard.
News of Gwen Stefani's new gig leaked about a week ago but was finally confirmed today. According to sources, Stefani had two offers and had to choose which direction to go. She could sit on the panel for the next season of NBC's "The Voice" or opt for a new ABC competitor "Rising Star."
It's interesting that Christina Aguilera was the one to announce Gwen Stefani's arrival to "The Voice" crew for season 7. She will be filling Aguilera's shoes since the songstress will be at full term in her pregnancy by the time filming starts. In her welcoming tweet Aguilera said:
So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani! Welcome to our crazy fam! Kisses- xoxo #blondesdoitbest
It is exciting to have Gwen Stefani as a regular on prime time TV. The pop singer who recently became a mother for the third time herself will be a breath of fresh air to the nearly stale singing competitions. It will be interesting to see the chemistry on-set between Gwen, the other judges and the contestants. She has always come across as a very sweet woman and it might be hard for her to give criticism to the aspiring musicians.
Season 7 of "The Voice" will feature veteran judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine as well as welcome Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani. This mix of rock, hip hop, country and pop just might make for some really beautiful music. We already know that Gwen and Pharrell make excellent music together and truly hope that their amazing musical chemistry will come across well on this prime time series.
