On April 29 American singer-songwriter Gwen Stefani confirmed that she will be a judge on the NBC reality competition program "The Voice". The singer posted a picture on Instagram of her hand posed with a microphone, which is the show's symbol. The No Doubt lead singer Stefani will replace Christina Aguilera during season 7 while she is taking a hiatus due to her pregnancy.

Season 7 will also see another new coach, Pharrell Williams who is replacing Cee Lo Green. Coincidentally, Stefani joined Pharrell on stage during his performance at the 2014 Coachella Music Festival. Stefani's most recent release was with her band No Doubt. They re-joined after an 11 year hiatus and released the album "Push and Shove" in 2012. Her last solo studio album was released back in 2006.

It is still not known if fans will see the return of Blake Shelton, and Adam Levine who have both been on every season thus far. Season 7 will premiere in the fall of 2014. The current season of "The Voice" is currently in the live elimination stages with eight contestants still in the mix to win.
