Several new Central Iowa concerts were announced in the last couple of days. There have been announcements involving GWAR, Jimmy Vaughan, and the Des Moines Music Coalition's Gross Domestic Product showcase, among others. Here are the specifics.

First Fleet Concerts announced several concert events today. First, metal mayhem will descend on Des Moines' East Village on April 19, as GWAR comes to Wooly's for an 8 p.m. all ages show. The event will feature a performance by Sweatpants Rocket, and proceeds will go towards Passick's medical bills after her tragic car accident late last year. Tickets for the show are $5, and they may be purchased at Wooly's or through Ticketfly. This will be a 21-and-over event.

Wooly's will also host Mindrite's final show on March 15 at 6:30 p.m. The event will also feature performances by As for You, Sidewise, Index Case, 660 Dubstep, DJ Jesse Jamz, and at least two more DJs that will be announced later on. Tickets for the show are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. This will be a 16-and-over show hosted by Sub Sonic Social.

Index Case will also perform at Wooly's on March 9 when the band joins Alister Hag and Junk Poet on the bill. The show will start at 8 p.m. and will be open to all ages. Tickets are $8 and are available at the box office and through Ticketfly.
