Sadness surrounds the rock world today as the news of GWAR frontman, Dave Brockie's (aka: Oderus Urungus) death has been confirmed. According to the band's manager, Jack Flanaganm who released a statement, “It is with a saddened heart, that I confirm my dear friend Dave Brockie, artist, musician, and lead singer of GWAR passed away at approximately 6:50 PM EST Sunday March 23, 2014.” His body was found by his roommate in his Richmond, Va. home and fellow band member. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death though Richmond police do not suspect foul play or suicide.

GWAR is famous for their live shows which are always entertaining to the fans. They feature outrageous costumes and gortesque skits that shower screaming audience members with a never-ending supply of fake blood much to their delight. It is unclear at this point what the future of GWAR beholds. Flanaganm explains, “My main focus right now is to look after my band mates and his family. More information regarding his death shall be released as the details are confirmed.” Brockie was 50 years old.
