Gurkha Cigar Group has just come out with another limited edition line of cigars, this one called the Pedro Martin and we hope to review it for you soon. It is being marketed as a strong full-bodied cigar with a 9 year old Corojo wrapper and is expected to retail for around $14. Gurkha is limiting is production of this cigar to 500 fifteen count boxes in the Toro style measuring 6" long and a 54 ring size.
Manufactured in Nicaragua by Arsenio Ramos the new cigar is a blend designed a long time ago by cigar legend Pedro Martin, which came about after Martin's daughter, Maria Martin joined Gurkha earlier this year. Gurkha bought the trademark rights and some of the Pedro Martin blends at the same time. The blend is expected to have hints of roasted nuts, milk chocolate and sweet spices and exude a strong, pleasant aroma. The tobacco has been marinating in cedar the last two years.
“We are very excited to be adding the Pedro Martin brand along with Maria Martin to our Premium Cigar Portfolio,” says Juan Lopez, National Sales Director. Gurkha hopes to honor Pedro Martin with this limited edition cigar and future quality cigars bearing his name. Word it out Gurkha plans a 2014 release of Martin's Ruby and Maduro blends.
