The news these days is filled with the talk about guns. Americans from every demographic are taking a stand. What are these implements of technology that have captured our consciousness and our conversation?
Why all this talk about gun violence when actually, with the millions guns in circulation, there really isn’t that much violence. Around 13,000 deaths in the U.S. from guns doesn’t come close to the over 100,000 deaths from wrongly proscribed pharmaceuticals offered by medical professionals who are “practicing.” Are we to remove all the pharmaceuticals because of that?
The events of the Aurora and Sandy Hook shootings were events that went to the hearts of everyone, especially the families of the victims who would be the first to cry out, “no more guns.” These events that lit a powder keg of controversy are full of anomalies, half truths, wrong information, secrecy and conspiracy and could be seen as orchestrated events designed to rile up the public against guns.
When 9/11 occurred, many people said there is something wrong with this story. Now, years later, after the event has been looked at form many different angles, we know there was definitely something wrong with the story; too many anomalies, something hidden, some truth untold.
Politically, to divide and conquer the populace is the best way to control them; that’s leadership 101; Republicans and Democrats, religious beliefs, global warming, immigration, red states and blue states, so many reasons to take sides.
Guns and gun violence is just an extension of the violence that has existed in the hearts and minds of people for a long time. That’s the real problem. Or maybe there’s an influence in the fog of the Matrix that some are more susceptible to.
But now its guns and an attack on the constitution that never stated what kinds of guns we were allowed to have, only that we were allowed to have them. Our forefathers added that because they knew that weapons were necessary in the hands of the people to protect them from the possibility of a tyrannical government. It wasn’t added to protect individuals from their neighbors or psychopaths on the loose or even the myth of terrorists, although, in case of attack, guns of any kind could come in handy. History points to citizens under the reign of Stalin and Mao who were unarmed and slaughtered because they were defenseless against the weapons of the government. Take away the guns and they were at the mercy of those who would control them for evil purposes.
So one can only speculate that underneath the assault weapon ban, there may exist some evil intent. For some gun enthusiasts, they’re fun to shoot, others like to hunt, but for some, they are protection against a force that has the same kind of weaponry like the military or Homeland Security who, by the way, just purchased a staggering 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition with taxpayer money. At the same time, state of the art weaponry and technology, including tanks, are being transferred in vast quantities by the Pentagon from the military to the American police.
The argument to reduce the magazine capacity is a smokescreen fueled by the argument that you can kill too many people too fast, when homemade bombs and Molitov cocktails can do the job just as easily. Only 2% of the deaths from guns are attributed to assault weapons, so why all the fuss? Why go after any weapons at all when we know its people who kill people. It used to be clubs, spears, bows and arrows, knives and swords and now its guns. How can a country that has bombed innocent people into oblivion and is now droning them to death have the hypocritical audacity to attempt to regulate weapons and if it wasn’t for weapons, we’d all be kneeling in front of the Queen. In addition if there’s such a fantastic threat from terrorists, wouldn’t assault weapons in the hands of citizens be a good idea?
But that’s not what it’s about. We can only suspect that our elected government is planning something; something we can’t even let our minds wrap around because after all, this is America, the land of the free and the home of the brave; the greatest country on the planet; the model that all other “lesser” countries should aspire to. We live in the land of 9/11, where the government of the people, for the people and by the people could do that to the people to advance an agenda. If you’re not paying attention you might ask what agenda? The agenda of the Patriot Act , where we traded some of our freedoms for the promise of safety and security which has led to a culture of surveillance and a government that is recording every phone call, e-mail and text message without having to seek the approval of a court.
No, it’s not the guns that are the threat, it’s the evil in the minds of men and I say men because it dismisses women who are too compassionate and nurturing to kill. No it’s men, powerful men, psychopathic men who don’t do the killing themselves but order it done by drones; humans who have been brainwashed to do their bidding.
Back away from the gun issue and any issue that divides people and come together in a spirit of union. Don’t just call it some half baked conspiracy theory because all governments are conspiratorial by nature: plans made in secret. That’s what they do. That’s how they survive. In a line from the movie V for Vendetta, the leader screams to his minions something like, “Make them understand why they need us.”
Humans are basically good but can easily be driven to do horrible things with enough pressure and brainwashing. Stand up for humanity. If we don’t stand up to the lies, we become liars ourselves. Support the rights of those who own weapons, even if we don’t chose to own them ourselves, in the same way we support the tenets of free speech, even if we don’t like what people have to say.
Jesus said, “He that has no sword, let him sell something and buy one.” (Luke 22:36) I guess, according to Jesus, in today’s world we better sell something and buy a gun.
