Four days after a gunman robbed a Marietta motel and chased its fleeing and frightened clerk, police are still trying to catch the man.
But so far, they have not yet identified him.
The robbery happened around 10 a.m. Thursday at the Motel 6 at 2360 Delk Road, according to Marietta police.
Investigators said the man walked up to the registration counter and confronted the front desk clerk.
The suspect told the clerk he had a gun in his right jacket pocket and demanded the money from the register, police spokesman Officer David Baldwin said.
“The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and then fled into an office area and out a back exit,” Officer Baldwin said. “The suspect chased the clerk, but she was able to escape unharmed.”
The suspect was last seen in the parking lot of the hotel on foot walking toward Delk Road.
Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect who they should be considered potentially armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about the suspect and his whereabouts is being asked to call 911 or the Marietta Police Anonymous Tip Line at (770) 794-6990.
