Gunman in FedEx uniform: Man nabs diamonds and runs

A gunman in a FedEx uniform is being hunted down after he robbed a jewelry store in Pasadena, Calif. Thursday morning, the San Francisco Chronicle reports March 2.

The owner of Prestige Jewelry -- Jeffrey Tran -- said the man walked into his store and asked to see a collection of loose diamonds. When Tran showed him the diamonds, the man dressed as a FedEx employee, pulled out a gun and ran off with the jewels. Tran isn't sure how many diamonds were inside the box or what they were worth.

Tran and his wife were the only ones inside the jewelry store when the incident took place. The two have owned the store for about 10 years. They said this is the first time they have been robbed. Tran told the Los Angeles Times that they weren't paying too much attention to what the man looked like because he was wearing a FedEx uniform.

Law enforcement are still looking for the gunman who entered the store in a FedEx uniform. It's unknown if he worked for the shipping service or if he managed to get a hold of one of their uniforms. Robbers typically disguise themselves in masks or black attire, but this man decided to blindside the store owners by coming off as someone wanting to buy diamonds.
