Friday, November 6, 2009, Alan Gottlieb was honored by the University of Tennessee (UT) at Knoxville. He was the guest of honor at the UT Accomplished Alumni Luncheon.
Gottlieb spoke to the group in attendance about his time as a student at UT, and his multi-faceted career; and then took questions from the audience.
When asked about the McDonald v Chicago case, he gave a brief synopsis of the doctrine of incorporation. He mentioned the Heller v DC case, decided in 2008, then mentioned that if McDonald wins, the Second Amendment will be incorporated to state governments, as well as the Federal Government. As a co-plaintiff (as Second Amendment Foundation) in the McDonald case, he stated emphatically, “We're gonna win!”
Gottlieb is the founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, a businessman, and author. He has appeared on countless radio and television shows, and periodically guest-hosts on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk.
